Ethan is the station's personal chef with a long criminal history, and is at fault for most of the SHADYD3MOS-0 events. While Ethan is the physically strongest character of the cast, psychologically he is anything but.Ethan often relies on his anger to keep himself from feeling sad. This is a willful choice as much as it is a defense mechanism, because Ethan has dealt with prolonged takotsubo syndrome since adolescence through to the present, the symptoms are now amplified due to his biological limbo between life and death. This causes Ethan immense physical pain during a state of distress, which is difficult to contain, so Ethan tends to hide behind rage to keep himself from feeling such pain. He also views his sadness as unmanly and weak, due to social stigma, so he pretends that his anger is a way of being strong, inevitably turning Ethan into a bad person who relies on other people's fear of him and his physical advantage over the average person to feel powerful.He has H-OCD and C-PTSD, that is the main catalyst of the story, and drives a lot of Ethans anger and violent rage. This began during early childhood, about the age of 7. This stemmed from Ethan's abuse as a child, and his exposure to violence towards himself, which he later perpetrated on others throughout the story due to various anger related motives. Calm is suspicious, and absence of danger is a foregn concept. But Ethan knows his anger can’t protect him forever. Ethan has numerous mental conditions, the ones aformentioned, and also deals with insomnia, dissociative amnesia, and prolonged takostubo syndrome (albeit hiding it to qualify for his job). Ethan Williams was born in European Russia, 1982 and grew up in a fractured, abusive household. His father died when Ethan was two, and manipulative voices convinced him he was to blame. Childhood was marked by violence, bullying, and institutionalization by age seven, where he developed deep guilt and violent tendencies. Released as a teenager, he was forced to raise his younger stepbrother Alexander after their stepmother’s death, and his life quickly spiraled into crime and instability.In 2002, Ethan was arrested after attacking his mother and spent time in prison, where he murdered child predators. Upon release in 2003, he and Alexander moved to Alaska, where Ethan joined firefighter training, murdered his sister for causing his niece’s death, and married Florence in 2007. Upon violently attacking a female higher-up who attempted to sexually coerce him, he was wrongfully terminated from his training. From there, Ludolf recruited Ethan to the Barrkon Fire Station where he finished his training and joined full time.Though respected for his strength, his mental state deteriorated after his niece’s suicide. Constant cycles of dissociation, fear, anger and violent impulsivity, which would excalate over the years, his untreated OCD being a major culprit. Ethan’s descent continued with multiple murders of colleagues and superiors, culminating in his own gruesome suicide in 2013.Two years later, Ethan’s corpse was discovered unnaturally preserved and reanimated. His revival was violent, killing Xavier upon awakening, and left him physically stronger but still mentally unstable. In the present, Ethan lives as a firefighter once more, scarred and haunted by guilt, his bloodstained hands a constant reminder of the cycle of abuse and violence that defined his life.HISTORY
Ethan was originally created when I was 9, about to turn 10. In older media, especially from 2023, when the character was properly introduced. Ethan was more idiotic than outright aggressive. The character's cowardly side was much more prominent, but he was also shown to be more excitable and would experience a much wider scale of emotions than his current portrayal. Ethan would struggle more with fear than violence in the earlier days of his development. Ethan was originally going to be named Ettano, but I scrapped it because I wanted it to be my name myself. Williams as a surname came directly from my middle name, and Ryan as a middle name was just something I threw in there.Ethan Williams was conceived as the first and most central character, soon followed by his brother. His origins trace back to when I, the creator, was just 10 years old, with Ethan initially serving as a figure of me myself for my social media presence and having not much planned lore. Early versions of Ethan (and the rest of the characters) were far less grim, I’d even say more cartoonishly evil, but Ethan still had a then unintentionally murderous past in early conceptions of the story. These early designs hinted at character lore but were primarily used to represent the creator online. Ethan’s dumber side of his personality was loosely inspired by Elvis Cridlington from Fireman Sam, especially his clumsy and idiotic traits from Series 5.I was an extremely traumatized kid, and grew violent by age 7. I was unable to control the impulse on the daily occasion it came around because I had high-functioning Autism and was already severely traumatized, every environment I existed in was unsafe, so I learned fight and flight, which to me, was only fight. The only thing I knew about myself was that “There is another Ethan in the back of my head, and he is going to kill me and everyone I know and love.” And that Ethan was given the name Ethan Ryan Williams 2 years later. The thoughts eventually stopped being entirely ego-dystonic when I was 14, due to how long they'd persistedThis is also why Ethan is depicted as a physically imposing man. Almost monsterish. Thats because he is a monster. I am a monster. Ethan is the monster that was born from monsters, and now, he will never be able to mend what he has done. Ethan Williams harbors a deep-seated grudge against himself for his past actions. Despite the forgiveness extended by those he has wronged and neglected, Ethan struggles to forgive himself. This internal conflict fuels much of his aggression and self-destructive behavior, creating a complex and often tumultuous relationship with his own conscience. This usually ends up with Ethan lashing it out on himself in unhealthy ways, which is, for the most part, creator projection. TLDR, Ethan is me. Xavier Myér is the ‘protagonist’ in SHADYD3MOS-0, acting as a stark contrast to Ethan Williams. They are the two main characters, and the fifth major victim of Ethan. I like to think of them like silent violence and.. yknow, violent violence. That's what they are. They're that duo where the younger smaller one (Xavier) has more authority, and the bigger older one (Ethan) is the one who's angry, can kill someone with ease, but is getting his ass beat by a whole ass minecraft skeleton who weaponizes the sound of thin air. While Ethan is volatile and angry, Xavier is far more cold, calculated, smart, and emotionally numb. Xavier is more aware, can read people like open books, and has more means of manipulating people when he wants something from them Despite his low official rank, Xavier naturally assumes a leadership role among his colleagues, however, most of the things he says and does are rather subconscious.Xavier works as a firefighter, and is a somewhat skilled electrician. He is the youngest of his family—Zoey and Sean Myér—but is much more mature and wiser than both of them despite being over a decade younger than the latter. Xavier is amongst the younger characters, still in his teens, yet can outsmart all of his colleagues combined. Xavier tends to be better at reading the room, understanding the most basic cues, and even understanding people speaking languages he cannot speak fluently just by their tone of voice. He is the type of man who is rough spoken, but will tell you anything you want, or don't want, to hear. Just look at him a certain way, and he’ll read you more fluently than anyone else around you, even those who know you best.Though he often questions his own existence and lacks traditional heroic traits, Xavier’s actions are guided by a somewhat existent moral compass and a fierce loyalty to the few people he still trusts and somewhat cares for. I’m unable to recall many details of where exactly Xavier came from. Practically nothing is publicly posted by younger me about Xavier's origins, therefore there isn't much that can be said for Xavier's early beginnings. All we know is that a pre-debut Xavier, alike the rest of the pre-debut cast, did actually exist at some point. Otherwise, Xavier would have no roots to be the semi-finished project that he is now, but originally he was planned to have a different name, Connor. He was also going to be 17, but some parts of the story wouldn’t make rational sense if Xavier was a minor, so I made him 19 (which is still a teen imo).Xavier started as a shallow supporter character for Sean in 2023, and was more expressive at the time. His personality was more of a bored teenager than an empty person with subconscious actions most of the time and no motive other than boredom and keeping order. He had really short hair, and kinda looked like shit. Sean Myér is one of many deuteragonists in this story, and was the fourth major victim of colleague Ethan Williams’ mental spiral. The older cousin of Xavier by a decade, married to Zoey, yet has no authority of his own. Sean had been dragged through life by his cousin due to his fear of making decisions for himself and his own wants, ending with him being dragged into a dangerous job which he fails to do time and time again. He has a constant contradictory personality which confuses even himself, fluctuating between an angry old man hurling his cane at young children, a complete manchild (despite being an adult who wasn’t even 30 yet), a giant towering bundle of sheer dad strength or a weak, scared little mouse cowering in a corner saying “please don’t hurt me”.Sean is a walking contradiction: physically towering at nearly 8’0", yet emotionally delicate and riddled with insecurity. He’s a coward, to say the least. Easily frightened by people, loud noises, and even his own thoughts, and more clumsy than a comic relief character, but also somehow a grumpy old fart that acts like he’s from 12 generations ago. He’s the type of guy to run away from his own shadow but then raise a finger and scold it. Sean finds solace in quiet, solitary activities like painting, reading newspapers, and cleaning. He’s deeply nostalgic and prefers traditional values over modern trends, often criticizing technology and youth culture, even when he himself was of that modern generation.Sean’s self-esteem was practically nonexistent. He’s highly self-conscious about his appearance, weight, and mental health, often calling himself stupid due to head trauma. Sean Myér was born in Michigan to two Spanish immigrant farmers, later moving to California and then Alaska, where he was misdiagnosed with autism at age 10, and later properly diagnosed schizophrenic at 17. The family had to change their methods of farming due to the climate. Despite his fragile mental health, he took responsibility for his cousin Xavier after the loss of Xavier’s parents. Sean was artistic as a child and dreamed of becoming an illustrator or author, and had a hyperactive imagination that would either benefit or terrify him, but ultimately joined the fire brigade alongside Xavier out of loyalty. He married Zoey, a colleague escaping an abusive past, though her eventual death in a station fire triggered a severe decline in Sean’s mental stability.Haunted by paranoia and trauma, Sean was murdered by Ethan Williams during a breakdown at the fire station, only to be reanimated as undead. Though he no longer hallucinates, he remains emotionally fragile, prone to panic attacks, and cognitively impaired from head trauma. In the present, Sean continues working as a firefighter, but his incompetence and forgetfulness often cause problems, leaving him vulnerable to mistakes and irrational behavior despite his lingering loyalty to Xavier.HISTORY
Sean was the fourth character added to the SHADYD3MON cast, following Zoey and the Williams brothers. His earliest known appearance was in a short video from May 2023, where he was portrayed quite differently than he is now. Originally, Sean had a bold, assertive personality—more like Xavier—and was known for starting arguments, especially with Ethan. He was more defensive, smarter, and had less restraint.I had the idea of Sean's current personality when I was 10, and exhibiting such behavior myself, especially given that I had high-functioning autism. Irrationality, causing danger with my sheer stupidity, and being constantly worried about being judged, ridiculed, or attacked, overall thinking that everyone was out to get me, because that's what happened when I was younger. All I knew during that period was flight, because fighting got me in trouble, even with the police. I was scared to assert myself, had no autonomy, and couldn't even make basic decisions, only deciding what I want if other people wanted it too. Alexander Williams is a deuteragonist, and younger stepbrother to Ethan. Volatile, sarcastic, self-absorbed, and always ready to ruin someone else's day at the station, but his real power lies in how deeply broken he is beneath the surface, and of course, the charisma. At his core, Alexander is a hypocritical narcissist with severe mood swings, often oscillating between arrogant bravado and childlike breakdowns. He degrades others to inflate his fragile ego, lashes out when criticized, is quick to challenge authority, and acts untouchable and higher than he actually is. Despite his abrasive personality, Alexander is not one-dimensional. He’s rebellious, manipulative, and power-hungry, but also self-loathing, and often tries to focus on others’ inconsistencies to deflect his own. He's a fast understander, but not such a fast learner, and he's much more reputation-crazed than Xavier.Post-reanimation, Alexander became an overall fractured person. While his cruelty and manipulative nature are less than ideal, he occasionally shows flashes of compassion — particularly toward Zoey, Florie, and Ethan. Alexander is a character built on contradiction: a boy who never had a chance to grow up, now trapped in a body that won’t die, haunted by guilt, grief, and whatever else he perceives to be there, that may not actually be, yet he enjoys tracking vulnerable people, whether for revenge or intimidation. While he is selfish, he tends to hate himself a lot. Alexander, alike his brother, views vulnerability as weakness, but he also knows that his bratty demeanor can’t always save him.Alexander isn’t always competitive in a dominating “thrill seeking compulsion” way though, he likes to show power in other ways that aren’t taking away someone elses. Alexander was the 2nd character to come, based on my lost stepbrother. The first version of Alexander Williams was created when I was about 10 years old, just a week after Ethan, but his first ever appearance on the EVILETH4N channel was when I was 13. Other than that, barely anything is known about pre-debut Alexander, other than the fact that he used to have a sister named Danielle, who was later made to be his cousin, and as a distant side character.Alexander was always my favorite character, and was always the closest to me in appearance, age, and even personality in some aspects (but in that regard I am closer to Ethan Williams). He would always care about his less than good image, and would always be worried about how he were perceived, much like myself during younger ages. I was always trying to live up to standards that I could never meet, trying to make people somehow like me when I was 8, because I didn’t want to acknowledge how violent I really was. Ludolf is a tritagonist, fairly respected, highly ranked man with an important reputation to keep up among his colleagues and the general public, which at times he fails to do. Despite looking serious, he is way less formal with some of the younger firefighters, and has a rather clumsy side. Ludolf, while he can be commanding and stern, can just as much be curious, daring, or even idiotic. Ludolf has struggled in the past with his leadership, many seeing him as a weak leader, to which Ludolf eventually had to learn to harden up.BACKGROUND
Ludolf Kover was a German navy veteran forced to flee his country after whistleblowing on abuse within the service, before having false allegations of that nature levied against him. He illegally immigrated to Alaska in his thirties, securing legal status at the last minute before joining the fire brigade, where he rose to chief firefighter around the time Ethan Williams and the other central figures entered the service. His early life remains largely undocumented beyond this, but his career positioned him as a leader during a turbulent period. None of Ludolf's prior military qualifications were recognized when he became a US citizen, and he was forced to start from scratch.As Ethan’s behavior grew increasingly violent, Ludolf attempted to intervene but hesitated to act decisively, prioritizing understanding over discipline. Despite repeated reports from Xavier, Ludolf remained passive, even as evidence of Ethan’s brutality mounted. The station fire broke his resolve, leaving him overwhelmed and ineffective. In hindsight, Ludolf is portrayed as a weak leader and unintentional enabler out of intimidation, keeping secrets for his colleagues’ sake after their revival. His arc underscores the dangers of indecision, with new conduct policies introduced at the station as a corrective to his failures.HISTORY
Ludolf came around publicly in April of 2025. Very recent, so naturally, not much is on the docs about him yet. I wanted to give him a past in the Navy, because believe it or not, I have Navy heritage myself. I won’t give specific details or name who exactly was in the navy, but my father warned me soon before he died, “Never join the Navy”. I believed him, and wanted to give some hints of that in my own story. I would believe that Ludolf himself had Navy heritage himself, perhaps his own father warned against joining, but Ludolf wanted to join anyway. He wanted to serve wherever he went. Just like I did, when I looked up to my own father. Ludolf wanted to serve everyone, which was just not possible. He wanted to be seen as competent, but until he learned to be disliked, he had to learn that he was not going to perform his best.Originally I was going to name him Adam. What the fuck kind of name is Adam. The concept of Ludolf's personality was never really changed in my head, nor has his render received major updates since his debut. He was also based off of Station Officer Steele from Fireman Sam, isn’t that cool. Ludolf is technically still in his early stages of creation, since he was only newly introduced and was almost immediately thrown into the story with no real prior showcasing unlike the other characters, the majority of whom were conceived before 2022. Martino Ridge is yet another deuteragonist, “expert” helicopter operator, and closest ally to Xavier, who works as a step in for a fire station from a neighbouring region to the rest. He's the one who's always got an instinct to lighten the mood, it takes real shit to make him angry. He was never caught up in Ethan's antics directly, but always tried to pull Xavier away from danger, and away from engaging in dangerous behaviour to "find answers", answers which Micah didn't want to know, and still has limited knowledge of.Micah often is more worried about Rusty being in danger than his other colleagues, who he views as competent. Micah is the guy who’ll joke about tossing Rusty in a fire — and then be the first to save him from it. Towards the end of 'Well that escalated quickly', Micah does not seem concerned by Ethan who visibly has possession of an explosive, until Rusty comes into the immediate area. Micah does not care about others and their personal dramas until he is voluntarily brought into them, and even still, doesn’t like or care for drama.BACKGROUND
Micah was born in Australia to an Israeli-Nigerian family, later moving to Alaska and raised close to his cousin Zoey, and often avoided his siblings due to having at least some knowledge of what they were doing to her. Micah would often sit in his room after school, and never engaged with anyone who wasn’t his parents, Zoey, or his unlikely friend Xavier, who he met when he was 14. This led him down a path of isolation that he'd much rather live in than be with his family. Kids at school often found him hard to understand given his learned Australian accent, which was.. awkward.Micah was originally the one who satirically brought up the idea of Xavier returning to find the dead characters (and subsequently trigger their reanimation), but panicked when Xavier began to plan the idea. From there, Micah tried everything he could to stop Xavier. Even after it was too late, Micah was still trying to get him back.HISTORY
Micah is the newest character of the entire cast, added quietly in mid 2025. He didn’t even get an introductory post like Ludolf did, all he got was a vague showcase on my story. Sorry Mike. Micah is the least documented of my characters, and for now, I’d consider most of his character as being up to viewer interpretation. Eventually, new things will come out about Micah, but he’s still a very early concept.His personality, while not explicitly shown yet, was heavily based off of Tom Thomas from Fireman Sam. Zoey Myér, formerly Dozier, is a tritagonist in the story, and the third main victim of Ethan’s spiral, and the only woman of the fire station. She serves as the station’s unofficial mechanic, fixing everything from firetrucks to broken pipes — though ironically, she’s responsible for just as much of the damage to station vehicles. Zoey is brash, charming and sarcastic, and her humor tends to be crude and crass. She will often use her traits and her flirtation to deflect criticism or insults, but never to side-step her responsibility. She performs an excessive amount of confidence with her in-public persona, being wildly flirtatious, loud, constant, yet even more loyal. She's the kind of person who would obsessively fix her own makeup then just to intentionally ruin it less than 5 hours later.She is rather annoying, and often likes to team up with Alexander to piss off people. Zoey is both comic relief and emotional depth incarnate in my mind. She likes attention. A lot. She is willing to do stupid things for it, or outrught reckless things for it. Zoey wants to be loved, even if it means showing too much skin, or flirting with others to get on peoples nerves. However, something always makes her back off. Zoey doesn't need the attention, nor does she want to cross ethical lines. Perhaps she’s just compulsive, or selfish.. She doesn't always need to cross lines however. She’s also a skilled acrobat and boxer, often using physical activity to burn off other stresses when Sean can't be there to calm her.BACKGROUND
Zoey’s life began in what looked like a warm, supportive home, and her early talent as an acrobat and boxer shaped her physical abilities later on. Beneath that “perfect” childhood, though, she experienced a lot of inappropriate behavior from older teens and cousins, something she tried to rationalize rather than confront. Florence, her closest friend, and her younger cousin Micah were the only ones who treated her with genuine respect. As Zoey grew older, she carried the impact of those blurred boundaries into adulthood, entering the fire service at 23 while trapped in an abusive relationship. Her increasingly erratic and hypersexual behavior raised concerns among colleagues, especially rookie firefighter Sean Myér, who noticed both her discomfort around her boyfriend and her troubling interactions with others, especially how Ethan would always stiffen around her.Police eventually intervened, though Zoey struggled to understand her own confusion and trauma and would pursue Ethan despite his discomfort. This was never taken seriously because I am male and the aggressors were female, and the rest of my ongoing trauma was not treated as it should have been. There were times in my life where I was treated so badly and I could never communicate it due to my impairment, and how I inevitably became a threat myself. I was so terribly treated as a child that I knew literally nobody who was safe, so I asked myself, “What might a kind person look like?” Thats when a character named Daisy came along before 2020. She was a character in my head, named after the flowers that always looked so fragile and cheerful. That name was eventually changed to Florie a year later. She was the character that made me feel safer just by thinking about her. I wanna meet someone who's like her one day. I like kind people. :)I don't remember why I made her a paramedic. Russel the Fire Dog is the brigade’s fluffy Akita—part loyal companion, full time mischievous comic relief. He balances well-behaved calmness with a love of playful provocation, whether it’s dropping odd props, teasing teammates, or chasing birds for sport. Though he often zones out when he’s confused, his fierce protective instinct snaps into action the moment any ally is harmed, unleashing those hidden octopus-like tentacles and surprising strength. This blend of goofy antics, stealthy exploration, and unwavering devotion makes Rusty both endearingly absurd and deadly effective in whatever role he is given, whether in the fire brigade or another service.Rusty does not have a set personality. His core traits are loyalty, confusion, his fluctuating ability to identify hazards, and his instinct to protect people from anything ranging from structural fallout to psychological debris. However, due to poor training by Ethan, and his own traumatic sightings in the fire brigade related and unrelated to Ethan's behaviour, Rusty does not have a personality of his own, nor does he have a fully rational soul (due to being an animal) and primarily relies on influence from anyone around him to know how he should act.BACKGROUND
Rusty was born in 2011, among many other puppies in a shelter, and lived a fairly normal life. Upon being taken in by the Barrkon Fire Brigade, Zoey would have the idea to name him after her cousin’s surname, but Ethan, the firefighter who has ownership of Rusty, called him Russel, which nobody liked, and instead adopted the name Rusty.Rusty was the only witness to Sean’s murder, but that was short lived given that Ethan killed Rusty too, making Ethan the only character to target an animal. Rusty knew long before anyone else what Ethan was going through. It's hard to get help for someone when you can't speak up for either of yourselves.HISTORY
Rusty's early personality was much more like Alexander's, and he was much more aggressive and feral. He was also intended to be older, and had a much different backstory than his current "normal pup life". Rusty looked rather similar to his present counterpart, but had a more blue tint, and a large bleeding gash across his left rear leg, probably from Ethan.This render of Rusty was originally based off of the Wolf mob from MineCraft. In current physical appearance, he was based off the Snowy Wolf variant of the mob, but was named after the Rusty Wolf.He was based off of one of my own dogs as well. :)EXTRAS
